Family TherapyBeing part of a family can be rewarding, but also taxing at times. Conflicts can occur that cause the unit to flounder. In family therapy, it is of the utmost importance for the therapist to not take sides or be biased when treating the family. I can help you and your family to resolve conflict as a neutral third party, then help you to develop and nurture your relationships with one another. It is essential that each family member feel supported and that their feelings are expressed - I will do my best to ensure that just that happens.
Blended families can take quite a bit of time and focus, with the goal being for two family units to become one. It is not uncommon for children and adolescents to have adjustment issues with their new siblings and stepparent—even if the child or adolescent was supportive of the marriage initially. I can assist in this transition and help to resolve conflict in a safe space. |
